Configuration Management Specialist
Overview ***This position is physically located in Ladysmith, VA*** The Systems Engineer AAV is responsible for providing expertise in engineering and capacity to design, develop, test, and support pre-fielding efforts for the Assault Amphibious Vehicle (AAV) and the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Family of Vehicles (FOV). The Engineer provides a comprehensive approach to tracking and controlling the developing ECPs and propose solutions. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. The Systems Engineer will provide expertise on the AAV and ACV FOV and other combat vehicles in the management of space and configuration. The Systems Engineer will work with the Product Manager (PdM) AAV and ACV engineering personnel and be required to work in all PdM applications such as Windchill, Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management Integrated Data Environment (EPLM IDE), AND Program Share Point sites. The Systems Engineer will provide analysis, advice, and recommendations to support engineering aspects of the AAV and ACV FOVs for both pre-fielding and fielded systems as appropriate. The Systems Engineer will provide reports, detailed analysis, and technical findings in writing with presentation and letter format, and orally working within the PM AAA IPT structure. The Systems Engineer will travel as required. Other duties as assigned. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Dust/Dirt, Mechanical Hazards, Sharp Objects/Tools, Noise. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.): Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Four (4) years of engineering experience in Systems or Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge and experience or the ability to quickly learn about AAVs/ACVs in the area of space claim and configuration management, Engineering Chang Proposals and Integrated Production Teams. Analysis, presentation, and report writing. Able to perform assigned task with minimum of supervision. Effective communicator to maintain continuous liaison with supported activities. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Common Access Card (CAC). Ability to travel on short notice and spend short periods of time in austere field conditions. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Systems Engineer background with AAV FOV or other Marine Corps amphibious systems. Knowledge of armored and tracked vehicle maintenance. Knowledge of armored vehicles operations. Advance degree in systems engineering. The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
