Serco is seeking a highly skilled Configuration Management Specialist to provide independent configuration management (CM) support as part of our engineering team located in Fort Bliss, TX - (On-Site). This role focuses on designing and establishing management documentation, managing configuration baselines, overseeing change requests (CRs), and ensuring the integrity of deliverables and technical data packages (TDP).
The CM Specialist will operate independently based on project needs, ensuring compliance with established processes.
This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Secret Clearance
This position will be on-site 5 days a week Mon-Fri
In this role you will:
Provide CM support across functional areas, working closely with engineering and other teams.Design and establish management documentation, ensuring that CM processes are effectively implemented.Authorize the release of drawings and software configuration changes as specified by management and other functional groups.Provide advice and guidance on methods, procedures, and requirements to individuals responsible for creating documentation.Plan and implement methods to improve response times and documentation processes.Develop and maintain a CM system that tracks changes to configuration items and assigns unique identifiers across Logistics, Engineering Design, Integrated Product Support and Network Engineering.Establish baselines for Design Reviews, internal use, and delivery to the customer.Maintain the knowledge management system and the repository for configuration items and program deliverables is a critical part of this role.Independently track and control Change Requests (CRs), ensuring accurate and timely communication of changes.Evaluate change requests from other organizations to assess their impact on platform configurations, integration designs, performance, costs, and schedules.Participate in documenting, submitting, and reviewing CRs, including decision points.Perform configuration audits to maintain baseline integrity.Manage the knowledge management system and repository for deliverables and configuration items, with a focus on managing TDP files.Participate in special studies as needed and provide work leadership for lower-level employees when necessary.Ensure compliance with the Serco CM Plan.
