Tasks to be accomplished

The Change Implementation Specialist is responsible for the integrated implementation activities of approved Enterprise Change Requests (ECRs). This role understands all the required downstream activities needed to implement product changes, organizes and communicates tasks, creates achievable implementation plans and manages workload based on change priority and change effective dates.

The Change Implementation Specialist ensures the success of the implementation phase of the change process by:

Grouping approved ECRs to best achieve the desired change effectivity while minimizing the implementation cost and customer impact;Establishing a detailed implementation plan for all tasks with inputs from impacted functional groups.  The plan will include a schedule for milestones, dependencies, critical paths and activities associated with the work to be performed in order to achieve the desired effectivity of the change;Scheduling the Change Implementation Board (CIB) meeting, and distributing the CIB agenda;Chairing the CIB meeting to review change implementation plans and schedules with the cross-functional team in order to identify and quantify risks to schedule and mitigate those risks.Ensuring accurate traceability of product configurations;Revise As-Built records based on change effectivity;Review and apply variances (RFVs) to As Built recordsResponsible to audit the change packages to assure continuity between the old and new datasets, and for releasing the qualified datasets;Assist with maintenance of CM procedures ;Support the development/implementation of the departmental projects; Recommend enhancements to processes and systems.

Required Capabilities 

Understand product structures;Understand Materials Requirements Planning and Master Production Scheduling;Practical knowledge of project management with the ability to create and manage detailed project schedules;Understand functions of business systems (PLM, ERP, and MES)Ability to problem-solve and resolve difficulties;Ability to lead a team to accomplish planned activities in accordance with established timelines;Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively balance priorities to meet deadlines; Good interpersonal skills with the ability to gain cooperation regarding, processes, practices and procedures;Able to communicate effectively with contacts inside and outside the department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices and procedures; Comfortable and effective within a fast paced business environment with rapidly changing, or at times, competing priorities; Demonstrated capability of working under tight timelines, and to thrive in a high pressure environment;Self-starter with ability to work on their own, and within a cross functional team.

Experience & Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology program, or equivalent;Minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience in Configuration Management;Minimum 5 years working in Production and Inventory Management;Practical experience with project management;Practical experience with business systems (PLM, ERP, MES)APICS CPIM (Certified in Product and Inventory Management) certification an asset;Complete understanding and application of Configuration Management principles, concepts, practices and standards (as a minimum CM Industry standard EIA-649, ISO10007 etc.);CMII or CMPIC certification or other CM related Certification an asset;Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program clearance.
