The Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Team engineers and supports all the foundational technology used across M&T Bank.  We support two Data Centers, 15,000 Distributed platforms, 24 Mainframe Regions, a secure and reliable Network connecting all the technology across the bank footprint and process approximately 635,000 automated jobs per month.  In addition to that foundational technology level, we own the operational support processes, monitoring and command center that provide a unified, well-managed technology response when issues arise.    We deliver innovative, and compelling technology solutions, in partnership with our line of business CIOs, to enhance the internal customer experience that enables our business partners to deliver.

Overview:    

The configuration manager is a manager who has the ability and authority to ensure daily end-to-end delivery of CM services in accordance with the configuration management plan. The configuration manager’s specific responsibilities include:

Managing the day-to-day activities of the process, including establishing priorities and work assignmentsTracking compliance to policies and procedures and resolving or escalating any compliance issuesFacilitating CM auditsReviewing critical incident outage resolution results and responses and dispositions of failed changes due to issues related to the configuration management system (CMS)Facilitating communication and engaging business and IT management to encourage CM efforts and value propositionsEngaging with strategic projects to ensure configuration management can deliver the required CMS functionality within project timeframesReviewing and approving all changes to the CMS infrastructure where applicableReviewing and approving significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressedMentoring the organization of CM services, concepts, policies, and proceduresChairing the configuration control board (CCB) and enacting changes as directedProviding and approving all requirements, use cases, user stories, etc. to support new or improving CMS functionalityReviewing and approving all requests for the administrator log on credentials and access rights to the CMS infrastructureReviewing and publishing configuration management reporting

A combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ engineering and/or architecture experience and 3 years leadership experienceExperience with IT Asset ManagementExperience with Configuration Management DatabaseExperience encouraging teamwork and serving as role model when leading and directing othersUnderstanding of technical, business and operational impacts of a project or problem
