The Hardware Engineering Department of the Naval & Oceanic Systems business unit headquartered in Annapolis, MD is seeking a leader to manage the Configuration Management functional group. Emphasis is placed on leading a team of configuration analysts that support development and production programs, as well as new business pursuits to ensure quality engineering solutions.
Our engineering work includes full life-cycle programs including design, development, system integration, hands-on test, training, and production. The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. The successful candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish team goals.
This position is a dual role encompassing both people and project/technical leadership. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead a configuration management functional group of 6-10 configuration analysts including performance management, career development, staffing, and compensation planningProvide project and technical oversight for configuration activities performed by the groupMaintain and ensure application of processes and guidelines used by the group in accordance with EIA-649Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customersCollaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groupsSupport department initiatives, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and internally funded projectsSupport recruiting, interviewing, and hiringSupport fostering employee engagement and knowledge sharingParticipate in the endeavor to integrate from in-house software, Information System for Engineers (ISE), to Siemen’s Mission Product Lifecycle Management (MPLM) system as part of the digital transformation process, coordinating efforts with Digital Transformation Office (DTO)Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5+ years’ experience, or a master’s degree with at least 3+ years’ experience. An additional 4 years' experience may be considered in lieu of degree.Strong fundamentals in configuration management, to mentor your functional teamStrong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams as a functional manager, program manager, Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead, and/or other significant leadership roleProficiency in using common engineering design, production, analysis, and Microsoft office tool suit (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc)U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a TS/SSBI and pass a polygraph. Interim Secret required to start.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Digital TransformationAble to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneouslyExperience with program management, functional management, and/or customer managementExperience with proposals and Earned ValueExperience with business development activitiesActive TS/SCI clearance with polygraphSalary Range: $112,600.00 - $169,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
