Millennium Engineering and Integration Services, an Astrion subsidiary is seeking a Configuration Managerto support our customer at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) in Moffett Field, CA. The individual will haveexperience working multiple projects, developing and supporting processes, document tracking databases, and controls for programmatic and technical information. The primary duties and responsibilities will be to support projects and missions in the development and sustaining implementation of Configuration Management and document control processes, procedures and products. The individual will be working within multi-disciplinary teams with expertise across science, engineering, technology, communications, and management.
What you will do... Configuration Manager supporting spaceflight missions and projectsEffectively communicate with both NASA and support contractors’ stakeholders, project managers, scientists, engineers, and techniciansInitiate and implement procedures and processes for configuration managementConfiguration identification, control, change management, and status accountingManagement, control and dissemination of information, documents and repositoriesAbility to understand project Configuration Management and document control needs and translate them into solutionsDevelop, implement and maintain Configuration Management PlansDetermine, create, and maintain operating processes, procedures, and controls for information, data and documentationDevelop, implement and maintain document trees, prosses flows, dictionaries and templatesDocument development, writing and reviewEstablish, implement and maintain the Configuration Management RepositoriesConfiguration Identification including assigning configuration identifiers and labelling configuration itemsEnsure proper data, document, requirements, interfaces, hardware, and software identification Determine, create, and maintain operating processes and procedures for Configuration ControlsDocument routing for review and approvalsImplement, convene and run Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)Administration of change control processes, controls, and forms including Configuration Change Request (CCR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Deviation Requests (DR)Perform Configuration VerificationVerify proper identification, product configuration, change history and methodsLabel documentation to ensure traceability throughout the product life cycleEstablish and maintain the Configuration Status Accounting systemsNotify project personnel of canceled, superseded, and obsolete Configuration ItemsCreate, maintain, and publish the Records Retention SchedulesEstablish a secure repository for the handling and vaulting of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) type itemsSupport project non-conformance process and reviews Skills you will need...Clear and concise interpersonal verbal and written communicationPossess a strong attention to detail, process rigor, and keen problem-solving skillsDemonstrate an aptitude for managing large amounts of information, documents, data and project productsWork collaboratively with project interdisciplinary team members from various fields and backgroundsPossess an ability to work in a dynamic, team-based environment with mission-critical deadlines and deliverablesEffective time management for concurrent tasks and deliverablesAbility to develop work and task plans with limited guidancePossess an exceptional drive for mission success and a desire to support mission success through all tasks assigned
Ideal Candidate has:
2-5+ years of experience in Configuration Management or Project ManagementBachelor’s degree in a related technical field (computer science, information technology, project management, or other technically relevant degree)In-depth familiarity with configuration managementExperience with project management, processes and approvalsKnowledge of NASA policies, directives, requirements and processesFamiliar with spaceflight missions and payloadsUnderstanding and familiarity of how to handle information that is Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR)Experience with Office 365, Teams, OneDrive, FileMakerPro, and Box content managementFamiliarity with Atlassian tools Confluence and Jira Understanding of NASA Records Management
