Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Conflict Management Specialist for the department of University Human Resources. This position reports to the AVP of Workplace Culture. The Conflict Management Specialist (“CMS”) will provide a respectful and safe place for employees to discuss issues and concerns while creating and maintaining a positive workplace culture.

Among the key duties of the position are the following: Provides quick, effective, and responsive conflict management through varied techniques, including but not limited to mediation, facilitated conversations, and informal dispute resolution. Coaches supervisors on correcting inappropriate conduct and provide guidance on having difficult conversations. In addition, this position explains relevant University policies and processes, and makes referrals to appropriate offices. Triage casework, identify potential solutions to address different case types, and act appropriately using guidelines and Policies. The position also requires reporting to stakeholders on case volumes, categories, and insights for both internal and external dispute resolution. Administers Policy 60.4.4, Problem Solving Procedure for Managerial, Professional, Supervisory, and Confidential (MPSC) Personnel.
