Job Summary:
Our client in Windsor, ON is looking for an Connected Services Systems Engineer - Intermediate - PSP. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
The Product Definition group is responsible for the definition of future connected features and enablers including the rapidly growing area of EVs and autonomous vehicles. The team is seeking a candidate to fulfill the role of Connected Services Systems Engineer – Intermediate. The ideal candidate is a systems-thinking person experienced in working with connected vehicle technologies and the ways they are leveraged to delight customers. They will be working in an environment of innovation that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual will work with product owners and key stakeholders to define connectivity dependencies and enabling technologies in a scalable and flexible way. The Connected Services Systems Engineer – Intermediate will define features and enablers in a scalable and flexible way that support current and future connected services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform feasibility analyses and impact assessments on new features and changes to existing features. Define new API and data requirements for new features and services that provide long term flexibility and scalability. Provide connectivity requirements for next generation vehicle ECUs and architectures. Support feature definition by identifying design requirements that take into account the need for future flexibility. Be the Product Owner for key connected services enablers. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop user stories and requirements while evaluating their. potential and practicality by analyzing component consumer needs. Support evaluation of off-the-shelf products to ensure they meet the business needs. Create contractual project related documentation like a requirements specification or statement of work. Support feature definition by participating in concept workshops. Take lead on issue resolution for systems in operation.Basics:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, computer, information technology or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an architecture, software or systems engineering role. Demonstrable knowledge of software development lifecycles and activities. Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team with designers, coders, integrators and business teams. Strong relationship building skills including the ability to relate constructively to all levels of an organization. Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees. Desire to keep up on competitive connectivity solutions and technologies. Will be required to drive and validate on test vehicles. Mostly remote (85%-90%), but required to cross the boarder 2X per month. Must be local to the Windsor area to be able to utilize ARDC facility when needed and come to CTC for team meetings, benchmarking events, and training.Preferred:
Master of Science in Electrical, computer, information technology or equivalent. Experience working with services oriented architectures. Experience working with EVs or in the Autonomous space. A software development background with experience in one or more programming languages (i.e. C++, Java, Python). Experience with IOT, Streaming and Edge computing technologies. Experience designing and developing software in embedded systems. Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience with the Atlassian Jira Agile. Experience creating architectural artifacts such as sequence diagrams. Experience writing a requirements specification or statement of work.How You Will Be Successful:
