Ford Next team members are flexible, with a startup mindset - this is a group that thrives on moving quickly and growing through change. **What you’ll be able to do:** Support the creation a successful vehicle connectivity solution that includes network connectivity module configuration, wireless networking protocols, back office connectivity, partner and third-party network connectivity. Define and author the requirements for Vehicle connectivity to wireless networks, in concert with Infotainment System connectivity architecture, functional specifications and DFMEA. Responsible for developing vehicle connectivity solutions which includes multi-layer connectivity (bearer type, protocol, and messaging layers), application interface strategy within the system, Client Server architecture, Security framework, Apps framework, billing system, and subscription management. Define the technical requirement and software solutions based on best practices by working closely with feature owner, security experts and system architects in this domain. Research and apply new software solutions, partnerships and emerging technologies to system design. Connected Vehicle Systems Engineer positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). **You'll have...** + Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field + 3 years of experience in the position offered or 3 years of experience designing connectivity system architecture. + 3 years of experience analyzing, designing, developing, programming, and testing connectivity systems + 2 years of experience developing in-vehicle network technologies + 2 years of experience analyzing system failure points and evaluating solution proposals. + Employee reports to office in Dearborn, MI. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. + Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently. We are offering a salary of $112,472 to $125,615 per year.
