About Ameren Transmission
Ameren Transmission is dedicated to planning, constructing and safely operating over 8,000 transmission miles across a variety of energy markets. We explore opportunities and develop projects that will enhance reliability, improve system performance and increase access to more diverse generation sources for customers across the country.
About The Position
The Connection Agreements Specialist position is responsible for the tracking and administration of interconnection, interchange, construction and other agreements between Ameren’s operating companies, interconnected utilities, wholesale generation and large load customers. The position provides support with regard to researching matters, drafting and filing documents, preparing reports, coordinating responses, and documenting requests, along with using existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. The work includes instruction, guidance and direction from others.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist with the development of new or existing interconnection, interchange, construction and other agreements with neighboring utilities relating to the interconnecting transmission and distribution lines of Ameren’s operating companies.
Coordinate with the Planning, Design and Operations departments in the Ameren Transmission and Distribution companies.
Understand the Midcontinent ISO (MISO) generation interconnection process.
Maintain active contact with customers connected to or planning connections with the Transmission and Distribution systems.
Participate in local and regional meetings representing Ameren on contractual issues relating to interconnection, interchange, construction and other agreements.
Provide tracking and contractual support to Connection Agreements team and various company personnel with regard to Ameren’s interconnection, interchange, construction and other agreements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required. Bachelor's in Business or other related field is preferred.
Two or more years of relevant utility industry, technical writing, contract administration or other relevant experience is required.
Experience with writing contractual agreements preferred.
Experience with negotiating contractual agreements preferred.
Experience with graphic programs, such as Visio, preferred.
Knowledge or background in the electric system is preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required. Effective writing skills, communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills. Regulatory knowledge with state public service commissions, MISO and FERC is beneficial. This position works a standard day shift in an office environment with occasional trips to generating plans or the field. Also includes potentially unusual working conditions, shifts, travel, overtime, callouts, etc.

Compensation Range:
$67,700.00 - $130,600.00* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials.
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
