Job Description

A leader in the HVAC industry is looking for a Construction Assistant Project Manager or Construction Admin to support our team with the closeout phases of our new construction and retrofit projects throughout NYC.

ResponsibilitiesReaching out to clients and vendors via email or phone call.Handling construction documents and administrative tasks such as RFI's, submittals, change orders, scheduling, and budgeting.Participating in site walkthroughs with the Project Manager.Communicating with trades on site.Reading mechanical drawings/blueprints.Occasionally performing estimates when necessary.Essential SkillsProject managementConstructionHVACConstruction administrationData entryAdministrationBudgetingDocument controlRFIChange orderProject administrationMechanical equipmentMS ExcelOSHA 10 or 30 certificationConstruction management2-3 years of experience as a Construction APM or Construction AdminExperience working with HVAC systemsProficiency in Excel and BluebeamAbility to read mechanical shop drawingsExperience handling Construction Documents (RFI's, Change Orders, Submittals, Scheduling, etc.)Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Procore, Estimation, and AutoCADRetro-fit project type experienceNew Construction project experienceAbility to cost estimate is a huge plusSite walkthrough experience and ability to communicate effectivelyWork Environment

This position involves a split of office and field work, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. The work environment includes opportunities to work on diverse projects ranging from high rises (commercial and residential), retro-fits, and new construction. The candidate will report to their assigned Project Manager depending on the project. The company offers a stable backlog of work with multiple projects set to kickoff at the beginning of 2025, providing a great opportunity to gain both field and office experience with a well-known firm.
