Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Administrator to join our team in Goshen, NY. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working on construction projects. This role involves overseeing and coordinating various aspects of construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate all phases of construction projects, from initial planning and design through to completion and handover. This includes scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring all project milestones are met.Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and meeting minutes. Ensure all documents are properly filed and easily accessible for reference.Serve as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, school officials, and regulatory agencies. Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project progress, address any issues, and ensure all parties are informed and aligned.Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.Monitor project budgets and expenditures closely. Prepare and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting any variances and proposing solutions to stay within budget.Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process. This includes coordinating with contractors and suppliers to address delays, material shortages, or other challenges.Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications. Document site conditions and progress through detailed reports and photographs.Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those related to educational facilities. Stay updated on relevant laws and standards to ensure ongoing compliance.Identify potential risks to project success and develop mitigation strategies. This includes assessing safety risks and implementing measures to protect workers and the public.Provide guidance and support to junior staff and interns, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years of experience in construction administration, specifically on educational projects.Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in construction management software and tools, such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.Familiarity with construction standards and regulations.Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction management.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with public sector projects is a plus.Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or similar are a plus.OSHA certification is also desirable.Work Environment
The office is located in the middle of the village in Goshen, NY, within walking distance to restaurants and public transportation. The position involves working full time in the office and going out to the field as needed.
