The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire a Construction Contract Specialist for Planning, Design and Construction.  PDC is currently managing more than $2 billion in major projects in the design and construction phases, and this position is critical for the successful delivery of these projects.

Purpose

Responsible for the preparation, submission and maintenance of contractual agreements and related processes pertaining to construction projects managed by Planning, Design and Construction (PDC)

ResponsibilitiesEnsures sufficient familiarity with Competitive Solicitations and the resulting contracts, state procurement requirements and departmental processes to perform job duties and provide technical support to PDC staff as well as other University departments.Coordinates document distribution and quality control with Project Managers, Professional Service Providers, HUB Staff Associates, and Project Specialists on Competitive Solicitations and contracts.Prepares Competitive Solicitation award contracts for execution, routing, and retention. Reviews contract documents for quality control and compliance to state procurement regulations and PDC processes.Updates Contracts Database and LBB website with contract award information. Database entry and report generations.Schedules and coordinates multi-task projects in an evolving and deadline-driven environment in order to maintain timely completion of contract functions. Use computer applications Windows PC, Word, Excel, Outlook, Define, UTWorks and the contracts database.Provides technical, contracting and accounting support for PDC staff. Works independently as well as a Team Member with other contracting staff, Project Managers, HUB Coordinator and other professionals on Campus Construction/University Planning projects.Coordinates Competitive Solicitation related events including networking with PMs, training sessions, orientations, etc.  Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Five years of administrative experience. Experience in deadline-driven environment working on multiple projects. Three years of experience in Microsoft Office software. At least one year experience with database entry.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or additional education in contract management or related field. More than three years administrative experience. Two years of experience in the preparation of contracts and competitive solicitation process. Experience in State of Texas procurement process.  Professional certification in procurement/contracting; Certified Texas Contract Developer and/or Certified Texas Contract Management.  Experience in construction industry, architectural, or engineering processes. Advanced Work skills including merging, formatting styles, templates and Excel linked workbooks. Familiarity with UTWorks (Assetworks) and DEFINE.

Salary Range

$70,000 + depending on qualifications
