Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies being advertised through the Direct-Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce. Responsibilities You will review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and requests for changes to determine site conditions, feasibility of structures and construction, and to anticipate problems. Conduct job site inspections of work in progress to ensure Contractor' work is in compliance with plans, specifications, procedures, use of materials, contract provisions and schedules, and shop drawings. Prepares routine and special reports, memorandums, and correspondence reflecting the status of construction progress, delays in construction, noted deficiencies, and compliance with standards, materials, and/or contract modifications. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is defined as one year of specialized experience which includes: Applying knowledge of both engineering and construction methods, techniques, materials and equipment, and safety practices in the inspection of construction projects; Preparing comprehensive construction inspection reports; Reading and interpreting engineering and architectural plans and specifications. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel in DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Position requires regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts such as dust, odors, fumes, engine exhaust, high levels of noise, electrical hazards, moving machinery, and outdoor conditions involving exposure to rain and hot/cold weather. The work environment requires special safety precautions and the wearing of special protective gear.
