Construction Controller (Hybrid)
Responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of financial management for construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost control.Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and variance analysis to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.Coordinate with project managers and operations teams to monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability, and address any financial issues or discrepancies.Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts, working closely with project stakeholders to develop accurate projections and identify areas for cost savings and optimization.Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk management strategies to support the company's financial stability and growth objectives.Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies as needed to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.Mentor and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to promote professional development and teamwork.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.5+ years of progressive experience in construction accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.Proficiency in Sage accounting software or similar ERP systems used in the construction industry.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and compliance.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
