Construction Cost Project Manager
Job Title: Construction Cost Project ManagerJob Description The Construction Cost Project Manager role involves supporting cost analysis, budget management, auditing, and data governance across multiple building programs. This remote position requires occasional domestic travel and combines construction experience with project cost, schedule, and contract management abilities. Key responsibilities include onboarding users and projects into internal cost management software, troubleshooting cost tool issues, conducting cost analysis, and supporting contract compliance audits. The role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and effective issue escalation. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least three years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction. Responsibilities + Own onboarding of users and projects into internal cost management software based on project pipeline. + Assist in troubleshooting issues with cost tools across regions (related to monthly cost reporting and change orders); users include Developers/General Contractors/Construction Managers. + Conduct analysis to identify and rectify discrepancies between cost reports and finance cost systems across all regions. + Analyze cost systems and reports to identify projects that may need supplemental funding; support the review of project supplemental costs across regions. + Support our Contract Compliance Audit Program during pre-construction, in-flight, and post-construction project audits, ensuring all site-specific information is correctly displayed before submitting to auditing teams. + Assist with management of trouble tickets for cost-related items. + Assist with the auditing program by managing the auditing Smartsheet document and gathering accurate site information from Construction Coordinators. Essential Skills + Extremely organized and detail-oriented with the ability to quickly pivot to support changing business needs. + Demonstrates the ability to prioritize based on urgency and importance. + Independent work ethic with minimal direction from leadership. + Effective escalation of critical issues to lead and/or appropriate stakeholders. + Quickly identifies issues that may disrupt the organization and develops practical and efficient solutions. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a comparable field (preferred). + 3 or more years of Project Management experience, preferably in commercial or industrial construction as an Engineer, Construction Manager, General Contractor PM, Owner’s Representative, Commercial Developer, Finance Manager, Accounting Department, or similar. + Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Bluebeam Revu, and ACC BIM portals. + Proficiency in developing data tables, running queries, and managing accounting software. Work Environment This is a remote position that requires occasional domestic travel. The role involves working with a variety of technologies and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Bluebeam Revu, and ACC BIM portals. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the ability to quickly adapt to changing business needs and priorities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
