Job Summary
The Global Real Estate team is working hard on the double again strategy through opening new stores, relocations, and optimization of existing network. As a member of the Global Real Estate team, you will be instrumental in driving brand growth while maintaining our high level or design and execution. You will lead the team through decision-making and improve processes to help efficiencies. You will be responsible for holding all stakeholders accountable to deadlines and meeting annual, quarterly and monthly metrics – store opening, turn over to construction, permit approvals. You will oversee a minimum of 50 new store openings per fiscal year.
We are looking for someone with strong project management skills, a sense of urgency and ability to hold firms accountable to process, speed and quality. The person must be process oriented, and willing to get things done. Someone who is interested in looking for new ways to improve process.
There are a lot of touch points to permit and entitle a project as outlined in the attached. This position manages those who are responsible for meeting the deadlines to obtain permits to deliver to construction. The PM firm that is hired by Circle K has been empowered through their agreements with Circle K to deliver projects on time, on budget and with the quality that Circle K expects.
This position reports to the Head of Construction.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversee New to Industry projects (NTI) and Rebuilds and provide leadership and oversight of the construction managers and field team. Planning and critical thinking are needed for a successful candidate.
Manage, plan, direct and administer policies, work activities and goals for construction managers focusing on leadership, profitability, performance, work competency and growth.
Oversee Construction Managers and guide them to meet construction schedules
Collaborate with Design Team for the Construction Budget. Lead, share and coach best practices for project management, cost control and communication with internal customers.
Monitoring and appraising critical path results and coordinating development information.
Assist Head of Construction and Senior Construction Manager in developing training plans for new Team Members and assist in standardizing all processes in all Business Units.
Perform construction audits and inspect construction sites to assure adherence of specifications and acceptable quality
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing all other related results as needed.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• General Contractor experience preferred
• Requires previous C-Store and gasoline construction experience.
• Requires prior experience managing people.
• Travel to other Business Units and construction sites is required.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
