Type: Contract Job Title: Construction Dispatcher, Project Services Location: Scranton, PA Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Scranton, PA Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: AAS, BA, or BS degree in relevant studies desired A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as: Strong interpersonal communication and team collaboration skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on efficiency and minimizing delays Description: CTG's client is seeking an experienced Construction Dispatcher to join their Project Services group. The position supports major fiber optic projects in the eastern US, including Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and business projects. The successful candidate will manage resource scheduling, coordinate logistics, and assist with field communication to ensure project efficiency and timely completion. The role includes both office and field responsibilities, ensuring smooth operation from design through to testing and turn-up. Major Roles and Responsibilities: Assign construction crews, vehicles, and equipment to the appropriate locations based on project needs. Monitor crew availability and ensure resources are efficiently utilized. Coordinate material pickup from the warehouse and assist vendors on-site. Serve as the primary point of contact for project managers, clients, and field personnel. Resolve scheduling conflicts and adapt plans to address logistical issues. Track project progress and equipment status via Sitetracker. Generate reports on project schedules, delays, and resource usage. Adjust schedules in response to unexpected issues such as equipment failures or weather delays. Collaborate with project managers to address challenges and maintain project timelines. Communicate delays or issues with vendor site superintendents and clients. Review construction progress reports and attend project meetings to ensure smooth operation. Requirements: Required Qualifications: 3+ years of Telecommunications industry experience. 3+ years of OSP (Outside Plant) telecom construction dispatch experience. Knowledge of fiber optic network architecture and FTTX (Fiber to the Home) work prints. Proficiency with dispatching software and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritize tasks and handle rapidly changing priorities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a team environment and maintain professionalism at all times. Education: AAS, BA, or BS degree in relevant studies is desired.
