Construction Electrical Engineer
**Job Family** **:** Systems Engineering (Digital) **Travel Required** **:** None **Clearance Required** **:** Ability to Obtain Public Trust **What You Will Do** **:** We are currently searching for a Construction Electrical Engineer. This role will assist the government Project Officer and his team in design review and construction management of new building construction, as well as facilities renovation. The role will serve as a subject matter expert on electrical issues as relate to construction. The ideal candidate would also have knowledge and experience with mechanical systems, and civil compliance with applicable policies and standards. This is a full-time onsite position supporting the NIH office in Hamilton, MT. + Provide consultation on facility renovation and remodeling projects. + Provide report evaluations, planning, programming, studies and investigations, and design concept reviews in support of various facility designs, renovations and new construction projects. + Participate in planning meetings with space and staff, building architects and engineers regarding space and construction projects. + Perform as a primary resource and point of contact for expertise on electrical engineering issues, analysis and troubleshooting, concepts, design, construction services, commissioning. + Work with POs on the design and construction services of renovation projects ranging from minor alterations to major design projects. + Coordinate and facilitate complex planning, design, and construction. + Prepares updates and reports for senior leaders regarding RML design and construction projects. + Analyzes complex design and construction information to determine potential issues. + Collaborate with technical staff at the onset of a new renovation project to help acquire all the needs for the project; create scaled layout options in AutoCAD to access the feasibility of the layouts and to maintain a single detailed representation of all requirements. + Solicit technical input from subject matter experts as required on special requirements for research or administrative space. + Monitor schedule and cost of major projects for excessive cost overruns or claims; establish reporting systems to ensure that timely. + notification is provided to the government representative of any deviation from original budget or schedule. + Collaborate with investigators and construction staff to find cost-effective solutions on all renovation, repair, and improvement projects. + Evaluate proposed major equipment purchases to ensure that salient operating characteristics can be met with available space and utility services, including power, water pressure, HVAC requirements, etc. \#SOAR **What You Will Need** **:** + Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s Degree plus TWO (2) years of additional experience is lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. + A minimum of TWO (2) year of experience Electrical Engineering, Construction Services, and/or related experience. + Analyze complex design and construction information to determine potential issues. + Experience with oversight of building projects, renovations, or refurbishments. + Familiar with scheduling software like Primavera and MS Project. + Familiar with construction project tracking software like Procore. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. **What Would Be Nice To Have** **:** + Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. + Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred. + Previous experience with the National Institute of Health (NIH). **What We Offer:** Guidehouse offers a comprehensive, total rewards package that includes competitive compensation and a flexible benefits package that reflects our commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.
