Construction Engineer I

Job Description

●\tAssist with development of project work plans

●\tAssist in monitoring and tracking progress in schedule and budget

●\tAssist in project coordination

●\tProvide inspection services

●\tMaintains records or oversees recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and that engineering-related production problems and resolutions are documented.

●\tAssist with quality control plans

●\tInspections to ensure that it complies with plans, specifications, health and safety guidelines

●\tAssure the quality control plans are follow

●\tAssist with quality control process for submittals

Employees will often work 10 hour days, 5 days a week depending on workload and projects during busy season. There may also be occasional weekend work.

Overtime pay will be offered.

Preferred Location: Detroit, MI

Candidates may also sit within a 1 and 1/2 hour radius of Lansing, but will be driving to sites.

- This position will be 50/50 between office and fieldwork.

- Office work can be record-keeping, quality control plans, etc.

- Fieldwork will be inspection work

Travel: No overnight travel but most job sites will be in the Metro Detroit area.

Candidates will be given company vehicles with in-vehicle Wi-Fi.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MUST HAVES:

2 years as a Construction Inspector

Associates/Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering

Valid Driver's License

Preferred Certifications and Training include:

MDOT Bituminous Paving / Michigan Bituminous Paving Operations Certification

Michigan Certified Aggregate Technician

MDOT Density Technology Certification

Michigan Concrete Field Testing - Level 1 (MCA or MCPA)

Michigan Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) – Plan Review and Design Certification

Storm Water Management - Construction Site Certification

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87/hr.
