Construction Health And Safety Officer
**Job Title: Safety Officer** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced on-site Safety Officer to oversee all health and safety aspects of a CapEx projects at a facility in Jacksonville. The successful candidate will ensure a safe and compliant construction site, prevent accidents, and enforce health and safety regulations. This role requires bilingual communication skills to effectively interact with general contractors and subcontractors. **Responsibilities** + Ensure the job site is compliant with all safety regulations. + Identify risks on the job site and develop safety protocols accordingly. + Update the Safety Plan when new risks are identified or incidents occur. + Conduct regular safety inspections throughout the project. + Provide training to contractors and conduct safety meetings, including safety stand-downs and emergency response drills. + Write and submit safety reports documenting potential hazards, mitigation measures, and any safety incidents. + Document and report safety incidents and concerns. **Essential Skills** + Experience in Safety, Health & Safety, OSHA 30, Construction Safety, Safety Training, and Safety Procedures. + Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations. + Familiarity with BCSP (Board of Certified Safety Professionals) and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards. + Experience in safety compliance, site safety audits, and safety management. + Ability to conduct safety inspections and manage safety programs. + Experience in commercial construction. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or relevant experience in commercial construction projects). + OSHA 30 Certification. + BCSP Certification (preferred). + 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction. + In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and other relevant safety codes. + Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others. + Excellent communication and organizational skills. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously. **Why Work Here?** This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to high-profile commercial construction projects. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from 7am to 4pm. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
