Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Lead Construction Inspector to help with mechnical and electrical inspections for an ongoing construction project in the greater Austin area. Electrical inspection experience is a plus.

Responsibilities Inspects construction contract related to water and wastewater facilitiesReviews contract plans and specifications for constructability, notes, errors, omissions and potential problem areasSchedules, plans, coordinates, and completes site inspectionsCoordinates construction related system outages with client facilitiesPrepares complete inspection reports and maintains a daily diaryMaintains complete project files including a project photo fileKeeps detailed records of construction progress, changed conditions, and as built drawingsPrepares monthly estimates of quantity of construction completedEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with contractors, consultant, and ownerResponsible for actions and performance of Junior Level Construction InspectorsMentors and trains Junior Construction Inspectors Qualifications In-depth knowledge of standard construction specifications, codes and special standards, methods, materials and equipment used in construction of water and wastewater facilitiesWorking knowledge of methods of soil compaction and density testing procedures, properties and uses of concrete, and techniques of handling, placing, curing and sampling concreteIn-depth understanding of OSHA Construction Safety OrdersAbility to keep neat, accurate, and concise recordsWork independently with minimum supervisionStrong oral and written communications skillsStrong computer and internet skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent5-8+ years experience of responsible field inspectionCompletion of OSHA 10 hour safety course and other construction training Preferred Qualifications Two year technical or Associate Degree in a related technical field Other Compensation and Benefits
