A growing general contractor located in Lower Manhattan that specializes in government agency projects is seeking a Construction Inspector to support their airport project. The Construction Inspector will play a crucial role in supporting their retail interior fit-out projects throughout the airport, ensuring they are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.Monitor and document the progress of construction activities, identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies.Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all inspections and findings.Ensure that all materials and workmanship meet the required standards and specifications.Assist in resolving any construction-related issues that may arise during the project.Provide guidance and support to construction teams to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.Essential Skills5+ years of experience as a Construction InspectorInterior Fit-Out experienceExperience handling general inspections including MEP, Structural, and ArchitecturalProficiency in Construction Management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.Ability to collaborate with contractors, project managers, and superintendents on siteExperience reviewing drawingsQ/A and Q/C experience, retail construction, MEP InspectionAdditional Skills & QualificationsExcellent organizational and time-management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyConstruction Inspector certifications preferredWork Environment
Fully on site at the airport. Project office at the airport. Will report to the owner of the company and a representative. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
