**Job Title: 1ST SHIFT PHYSICAL LABORER** **Job Description** Candidates will use hand tools and equipment to perform cleaning tasks on machinery and work areas. Duties include using shovels, scrapers, power washing equipment, hoses, and cleaning oil spills from areas around machinery. During shutdowns, candidates will do overall cleaning of entire machines. The role requires repetitive lifting, stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, or crawling, with lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted. Climbing ladders and stairs is also necessary. Use of PPE is required for certain areas, including double hearing protection, fire-resistant coveralls, eye protection, and hard hats. The work involves cleaning grease, oil, ash, and lime at the manufacturing site. **Responsibilities** + Perform cleaning tasks on machinery and work areas using hand tools and equipment. + Clean ash from the product produced and shovel it into buckets. + Clean oil spills and other contaminants from areas around machinery. + Conduct overall cleaning of entire machines during shutdowns. + Repetitively lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, or crawl. + Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. + Climb ladders attached to machinery or stairs. + Use required PPE in certain areas (double hearing protection, fire-resistant coveralls, eye protection, hard hat). + Clean grease, oil, ash, and lime at the manufacturing site. **Essential Skills** + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + Experience working varied hours if required. + Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction. + Skill with hand tools and power tools. + Experience with cleaning tasks in industrial environments. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with power washing or hydro blasting equipment. + Industrial cleaning experience. + Understanding of confined space or respirator use. **Why Work Here?** Weekly pay is provided once direct. Paid CDL training and paid time off are available. **Work Environment** Contractors will work as third-party contractors at a steel mill in Delta, OH. The environment is hot, dirty, loud, dusty, and oily. Contractors must be prepared for these conditions. The standard workweek is 40 hours with shifts starting at 6:30 am and lasting 8 hours. Overtime may involve earlier or later shifts. PPE required includes steel toe boots above the ankle, eye protection for dust, hard hats in certain areas, double hearing protection in specific areas, and fire-resistant coveralls. Northstar requires an oral drug test on the first day of assignment regardless of previous screenings. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delta, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
