Construction Laborer
**Job Title: Construction Laborer** **Job Description** As a Construction Laborer, you will unload and load materials, read plans and specifications, tend machines, and assist carpenters, operating engineers, and other construction site workers. Your role includes cleaning and preparing construction sites, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, removing debris and waste materials, and maintaining a safe and clean job site. You will work with various materials and tools, follow blueprints or instructions from supervisors, and ensure work meets up to code and specifications. Safety procedures must be followed at all times, and any violations reported immediately. **Responsibilities** + Unload and load materials from trucks both manually and with equipment. + Read plans and specifications to guide work. + Assist carpenters, operating engineers, and other site workers. + Clean and prepare construction sites, including erecting and dismantling scaffolding. + Remove and properly dispose of debris and waste materials. + Maintain a safe and clean job site by properly handling and storing materials. + Check work regularly to ensure compliance with codes and specifications. + Operate various hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, and hoists. + Follow all safety procedures and report violations to management. **Essential Skills** + 1+ years of experience in construction. + OSHA 10 certification. + Ability to work quickly, productively, and safely. + Willingness to follow instructions and comply with safety protocols. + Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation. + Ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds. + Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism. + Willingness to work overtime as needed. + Must be at least 18 years old. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. + Experience in finish carpentry, cabinetry, and general labor. + Experience with punch list tasks. **Why Work Here?** Join one of the largest General Contractors on the East Coast with a true 6-month contract to hire opportunity. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The team includes a Superintendent, Project Manager, carpenters, and subcontractors. Dress code includes work boots and jeans. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clinton, New York. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
