Construction Laborer
**Construction Laborer - Can Start ASAP!! - Weekly Pay** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced structural construction laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and performing tasks at heights, ensuring high-quality structural, plate, or miscellaneous steel fabrication according to specified standards and codes. **Responsibilities** + Join together structural, plate, or miscellaneous steel fabrication according to weld symbols, weld procedures, dimensions on shop drawings, and AISC code requirements. + Preheat and/or cut workpieces using a hand torch, when required. + Clean completed weldments of excess weld spatter, slag, and other surface finish defects using grinders, wire brushes, scrapers, and chipping hammers. + Fabricate sub-assemblies of the overall assembly as trained and instructed. + Identify shop drawing errors and discrepancies before or during initial stages of fabrication. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of fabrication or structural welding experience. + Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings. + Proficient in reading a tape measure. + Highly skilled in math (Algebra and Geometry). + Attention to detail and a sense of pride in work performed. + Ability to pass a weld qualification test with minimal assistance in accordance with AWS D1.1. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with various welding techniques including MIG and stick welding. + Familiarity with structural steel and fabrication processes. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy year-round work with comprehensive benefits including group health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, a retirement plan, paid vacation, and paid holidays. The role involves working both in the shop and out in the field on structures. A 30-minute lunch break is provided. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gretna, Nebraska. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
