Description: Job Summary:
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for performing continuous inspections of construction and renovations at assigned locations except for structural elements; reporting discrepancies and partners to resolve; reviewing the plans, specifications, schedule, and develops an inspection plan while ensuring compliance with Contract Documents and applicable codes; maintaining an on-going list of work to be corrected and/or completed by the General Contractor in accordance with approved plans and specifications; scheduling and coordinates regulatory agency inspections (e.g., AHJ field personnel, local building department personnel; identifying potential construction conflicts to Project Team and promotes equitable resolutions, documents construction; reviewing General Contractors request for information and assists the Project Team in determining if Regulatory Agencies review; facilitating Regulatory Agency field review of Instruction Bulletins and Change Orders; informing team members with observation and compliance updates; reviewing and verifying the accuracy of change orders and General Contractors monthly progress payment requests with the Project Team; and ensuring work aligns with the NIS Quality Assurance Governess Business Line including reporting criterion and as specified by local AHJ.Essential Responsibilities:

Supports construction operations by: providing specific guidance and coordination with the support team following narrowly defined parameters; using judgment and discretion to interpret guidelines to assist with the resolution of non-standard problems; and communicating between the project team and others inside and outside of the organization.
Supports construction deliverables by: working on smaller to larger organizational projects from initiation to close-out; developing, analyzing, and executing project plans which include scope identification and management, schedule, inter-dependencies, and resource forecast; assisting in project financials; monitoring project performance against plan and provides input and justification for costs and budget impact; coordinating with project activities related to organizational change management (e.g., development and execution of user adoption, implementation, and training plans) as defined by the project; and allocating resources, establishes schedules, and makes task assignments with minimal oversight from more senior project managers.
Contributes to vendor relationship management by: supporting vendor relationship management and assisting with vendor assessments through updating department databases with changes to vendors active status as needed, providing guidance to vendors with challenges to meet requalification financial criteria; and obtaining necessary documentation from vendors to complete new vendor qualification and annual vendor requalification and documenting vendors file as appropriate.
Acts in accordance with KP compliance by: utilizing a full working knowledge of the precepts of Corporate Compliance and Principles of Responsibility to maintain confidentiality, protect the assets of the organization, act with integrity, report observed fraud and abuse, and comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws and program policies and procedures.
Contributes to the management of knowledge and documents by: utilizing existing documentation to build and enhance comprehensive foundational knowledge of policies and procedures; developing. reviewing, and updating template documents independently; and facilitating training and knowledge management practices to increase knowledge (e.g., Business Process Package, Community of Practice).
Supports the use of data and metrics throughout construction management process by: performing standard and non-standard data entry to support planning and scoping with minimal day-today guidance from a supervisor; and utilizing comprehensive foundational knowledge of metrics to monitor and improve upon their own performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum six (6) years of experience in building projects of Type I or Type II construction as an architects, engineers, owners, local building officials, or general contractors representative in technical inspection of major structural and nonstructural systems and components of buildings, planning, architectural, design, engineering, CADD, hospital/medical facility, health and safety administration/management, construction estimating.
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, Computer Sciences, Finance, Law, or related field AND minimum one (1) years of experience in construction management, field construction, design, construction/project management software, procurement, contract administration, a directly related field OR Minimum four (4) years of experience in construction management, field construction, design, construction/project management software, procurement, contract administration, a directly related field.
Division of State Architect Project Inspector Certification Class 2 OR Commercial Combination Inspector (ICC) - C5 Certification OR California Combination Inspector (ICC) - I8 Certification OR Registered Construction Inspector Division II Building (ACIA) Certification OR Electrical Inspector (ICC) - E5 Certification OR Combination Inspector (ICC) - C8 Certification OR California Commercial Combination Inspector (ICC) - I5 Certification OR California Commercial Electrical Inspector (ICC) - I2 Certification OR Hospital Inspector Certification Program, Class B (California)
