Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to manage regional water and wastewater construction projects based out of our Hanover, Maryland office!
Our ideal candidate will become a member of our talented team of construction management professionals that focus on delivering outstanding client service, helping them construct and deliver their infrastructure, building and engineering projects. Services include managing water and wastewater and other project types from the bid phase through the construction phase for these exciting and challenging projects. In this role, you will use your knowledge of construction and project management to successfully deliver these projects to our clients. You will work closely with clients, engineers, contractors and end-users, demonstrating your strong understanding of the construction process. We’re looking for candidates that want to change the industry through determination, education, and leadership.
Role accountabilities:
This role will lead the Construction Management of public works projects involving treatment plants, pump stations, water storage and pipelines from the preconstruction phase through project close out. You will facilitate and lead project teams to deliver high quality projects on time and within budget. Local travel will be required to project sites, client meetings, safety audits, construction oversight, etc.
Change Management: Develop change orders, request for proposals and independent cost estimates. Lead change order negotiations with the project owner and contractor.
CPM Scheduling: Review and analyze contractor’s baseline and monthly updated project schedules. Identify schedule performance issues and report to the client and work with the contractor to correct. Lead Time Impact Analysis (TIA’s) to support negotiations of contractor-requested time extensions.
Other responsibilities include:
Lead and conduct all construction and progress meetings. Develop meeting agendas and meeting minutes with action items. Develop and make presentations to groups to include clients and public outreach meetings. Manage all project documents and communications through contract/document management software. Oversee, manage, delegate, and coordinate with our project field inspectors and project staff. Review, process and provide a recommendation for payment for the contractor’s monthly payment applications with concurrence with the client. Develop a project risk register for each project and managed and report on the project risk register with the project team on a regular basis. Establish a culture of health and safety on the project.Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant Project Management, Construction Management or related experience in water, wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations and utility projects.Key Attributes:
Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills, both verbal and written. We are looking for someone with a positive and self-starter approach to delivering successful projects. Experience in construction management and commercial contract/document software. Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project and creatine schedules in P6Preferred Qualifications:
Water and Wastewater (treatment plants, pump stations, utilities) construction experience. Experience in developing change order cost estimates.Why Arcadis?

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $76,110 - $105,000/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
