Summary: Seeking an experienced Construction Manager for a Naval Shipyard project, with a background in engineering or architecture and knowledge of construction operations.
Requirements:
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) / Registered Architect (RA) is desirable but not necessary.
Degree in engineering from a four-year accredited Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) university, an architecture degree from a National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited university, or a degree in construction management or engineering technology from an ABET-accredited institution.
Minimum seven years of experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Field Engineer, or Quality Control Manager on commercial/industrial type facilities contracts valued over $5 million.
Responsibilities:
Review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) in accordance with the three phases of QC.
Communicate effectively across multiple levels of authority to ensure decisive action.
Participate in pre-award contract meetings and coordinate post-award contract meetings.
Review contractor administrative submittals including schedules, environmental plan; design quality control plan; health and safety plan; accident prevention plan and shop drawings.
Visit construction sites to monitor progress and review CQC reports.
Provide project status updates to government staff including record inventory documents.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of construction operations and sound understanding of engineering concepts applicable to construction.
Experience reviewing pre-final contract drawings & specifications for constructability & compatibility with field conditions.
Ability to coordinate various contract meetings such as kickoff meetings, preconstruction conferences, partnering meetings.
Familiarity with reviewing contractor administrative submittals such as schedules, environmental plans and shop drawings.
