What You'll Be Doing

Job Summary: The Construction Manager is accountable for the complete life cycle of (Capital Expenditure) CAPEX and Cost projects from planning, scoping, scheduling, execution through to completion by providing oversight and holding contractors accountable for safe work practices and adherence to site rules and regulations.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Serves as Field Contract Administrator for contractors and contracted services for cost and capital projects.

Perform safety walkthrough with Operations and ensure Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)/Preparations meet the project work scope.

Collects relevant documentation for projects (ie pipe, I/E, electrical, mechanical drawings) and required forms for projects.

Performs construction Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) for project after field execution has been completed.

Supports shutdown activities for utility power, flares, cooling towers and chillers.

Assists development of equipment preparation and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) strategies.

Performs routine safety audits on field activities related to Projects.

Works with multi-discipline teams in order to properly design as necessary and safely execute project activites.

Ideal Background

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is highly preferred.

Licensing: General Contractors License is highly preferred.  

Experience: This position requires a minimum 10 years of relevant industrial construction management or project related experience.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.

Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.

Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
