In this job, you will be responsible for overseeing large-scale, highly complex, construction projects, monitoring budgets, developing schedules, and managing resources to ensure the successful completion of each project. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and stakeholders. Incumbents in this classification are often responsible for the construction of our most complex projects. + **_This is a field based position requiring ~ 90% of the incumbents time will be spent on the project sites_** + **_This is an individual contributor role with_** **_no_** **_direct reports_** **Key Focus Areas:** + Manage small to large-scale, highly complex, construction projects during the construction phase, ensuring that they are completed within scope, schedule, budget, and to the required quality standards; provide construction expertise to project team + Develop and manage the progress of project schedules, coordinate scheduling of multiple disciplines, drive completion of all tasks on time and without conflicts, communicate construction progress and status of completion + Identify, assess, and resolve issues during onsite construction and make recommendations based on priority and need to ensure the success of project objectives + Coordinate with engineering staff and/or engineer of record; perform detailed reviews of design development, including project constructability, value engineering, safety by design, and commissioning and start-up plan; attend meetings to support reviews + Coordinate project budgets with Project Manager, ensuring that costs are kept within budget and that financial reports (quantities, progress, invoices) are accurate + Monitor the safety and health performance of contractors and address deficiencies during the project as they arise. Champion safety, holding everyone accountable for high safety performance + Perform / monitor the red-line process monthly with the contractor as part of the review of contractor applications for payment and ensure that all RFI’s and Change Orders are incorporated + Implement and oversee quality assurance measures, ensuring that all work is completed to the required standard and in accordance with the contracted construction scope + Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, project stakeholders, contractors, and vendors + Provide oversight of commissioning work and contractors quality control during commissioning and start-up + Laisse and guide external Construction Managers on projects of various sizes and complexities **Who you are...** You are likely someone who comes with solid hands-on career of progressively responsible field experience in a construction management capacity. A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or a closely related field from an accredited college, completion of a an approved apprenticeship program, or demonstrated equivalent experience is beneficial. Additionally, possessing a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint is highly beneficial. Knowledge of electric and natural gas infrastructure (power generation, substations, natural gas pipelines) would also add to your success in this role.
