Construction Manager
Job Title: Construction ManagerJob Description We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the implementation of several Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) including Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), lighting upgrades, water conservation efforts, and transformer replacements. This role is vital in improving the efficiency and sustainability of our operations, leading to significant cost savings and carbon reduction. Responsibilities + Manage the installation of a 6MWAC/7.9MWhDC BESS using lithium-ion technology to improve turbine generator efficiencies and reduce fossil fuel consumption. + Oversee the upgrade of existing lighting systems to LED technology to reduce electricity usage. + Standardize and replace plumbing fixtures across multiple buildings to enhance water conservation. + Replace standard, indoor, and dry-type low voltage transformers with higher efficiency E-Saver units to improve electrical system reliability and reduce heat generation. + Develop and control project budgets and funding strategies. + Schedule and coordinate project activities among existing and occupied facilities. + Manage interdisciplinary teams of professionals and support labor categories. + Integrate competing elements into planning and execution processes to ensure smooth project flow. + Ensure compliance with federal and local government procedural, review, and approval requirements. Essential Skills + 10 years of management experience in construction project management. + Expertise in construction, civil engineering, change order management, construction inspection, and construction management. + Experience in general contracting and owner representation. + Proficiency in developing and controlling budgets and funding strategies. + Skilled in scheduling and coordinating project activities among existing and occupied facilities. + Ability to manage interdisciplinary teams and support various labor categories. + HSPD-12 Eligibility. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with Federal and local government office building projects, including procedural, review, and approval requirements. + Ability to integrate competing and conflicting elements into planning and execution processes. Work Environment Work will be performed at the Federal Research Center White Oak in Silver Spring, MD. This is a multi-year contract with guaranteed longevity and involves working with federal agencies. The role requires adherence to specified procedural requirements and coordination among existing facilities. The work environment is dynamic and includes handling advanced technology and infrastructure upgrades. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.10 - $63.46/hr.
