Job Purpose

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join Pizza Hut UK&I at a pivotal moment in its ambitious transformation journey. As Construction Manager, this position plays a key role within the high-performing and strategically critical Development team, responsible for expanding the Pizza Hut brand by recruiting new, growth-minded franchisees and partnering with existing franchisees to open new Huts and enhance the estate across the UK and Ireland.

Reporting to the Head of Development, the Construction Manager will lead all construction-related activities, ensuring the successful execution of new store openings, refurbishments, and estate improvements. Strong relationships with internal teams, franchise partners, and external stakeholders will be essential to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

In addition to project execution, this role will take ownership of key reporting and analytical activities, providing insights that drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement. Commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects will be fundamental to success.

Job Functions

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams—including Operations, Marketing, HR, and Restaurant Excellence—alongside Pizza Hut Global and external partners to support the execution of Pizza Hut Design Guidelines. This includes site planning, exteriors, interiors, kitchen layouts, digital integration, and new channel formats, with a particular focus on remodelling projects to ensure design consistency and high-quality execution. Contribute to asset innovation and design strategies by developing consumer-relevant, insight-driven, and cost-effective asset formats. Codify and refine proven asset types to facilitate scalable market rollouts. Conduct industry research and competitive benchmarking to monitor evolving retail design trends, identifying opportunities for application within the Pizza Hut estate. Enhance team capabilities by strengthening communication systems and processes, refining existing tools, developing training materials, and establishing best-practice frameworks. Prepare and deliver high-quality presentation materials for all phases of design projects. Confidently present to architects, consultants, franchisees, and internal leadership teams, ensuring clarity and strategic alignment. Drive organisational alignment on key milestones and decisions by effectively communicating development objectives and progress updates. Present operational insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, franchisees, and above-restaurant field teams, ensuring all franchise development activities adhere to established policies, including the Design Approval Process and Franchise Policy Manual. Ensure that all new development projects align with the UK&I market strategy and asset strategy processes, maintaining consistency and strategic focus. Support closure mitigation efforts by ensuring proper adherence to established procedures and processes. Assist the wider Development team with planning, business reviews, and ad hoc projects as required. Travel up to 50% of the time is required, based on project priorities and business needs

Pizza Hut RSC: Development, Finance, Legal, Franchise Business Managers/Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Restaurant Excellence & IT.  Pizza Hut Global: Development Franchisees: Owners, development/construction leads and other functional leaders. Third Parties / Vendors: Architects, project managers, consultants, landowners, commercial agents, developers, landlords, local planning departments and local authorities.

Knowledge & Skill Required

Bachelor’s Degree in a construction related course.  10+ years of experience in Retail and specifically in construction Demonstrated proficiency in technical areas including design, consumer insights and project management. Capacity to find ways to optimized CAPEX costs for new builds and remodels to improve the ROI.  Ability to work with all levels of management in a multi-cultural environment and cross-functionally. Ability to influence/build relationships with all levels of management. Clear and effective communication skills across all media: digital, face-to-face, by phone, and in writing. Highly motivated individual, intellectual curiosity, logical thinking, and a desire to have a large commercial impact on the organization. Highly competent on Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint and other construction related software programs. 

This role is Field-based and require 50% of the week travelling. Pizza Hut is a franchise business, you may also be required to attend franchisee offices, and other locations from time to time. Our Restaurant Support Centre in Central London, there will be events throughout the year that will take place in London including (but not limited to) RSC days, Functional team meetings / 121s and supporting with market visits.
