CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will provide assistance to other construction managers, exercising management and administrative skills in leading the execution of Capital Improvements construction projects. You will manage multiple priorities and independently develop and provide technical recommendations/solutions to complex problems encountered during the administration of the construction contracts. You will monitor available project budget and time constraints, including relevant cost and schedule growth metrics, and initiating appropriate planning and corrective action as necessary. You will ensure effective communication and coordination between the project manager, design manager, contract specialist, the contractor, the project technical team, the client, for design-build projects. You will provide expert construction management services to all activities and tenants served by the Facilities Engineering Command (FEC); have a technical background in construction management or engineering technology. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Have strong technical background with extensive practical knowledge and/or experience in the fields of engineering principles (e.g. civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) as related to various facilities systems, e.g., heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems; structural; roofing; electrical; lire alarm; utility distribution systems, etc. Knowledge of practical applications of various types of trades and crafts to include concrete work, roofing, electrical, steam fitting, plumbing, wood-working, or other construction activities as related to facilities construction. repair, and maintenance. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
