Construction Manager

Under the supervision of the OPS Manager , the Construction Manager will plan and execute construction projects and repair orders. The Construction Manager will develop and participate in the drafting of technical documents to include, but not limited to, SOW’s, RFP’s, ROM’s , ACL’s, Technical Volumes, LOTD’s, and Project Risk Assessments. This position will play a critical role in managing resources to facilitate the accomplishment of construction projects from initiation to close-out (cradle-to-grave). The Construction Manager will be required to effectively manage cost, schedule, and performance; ensuring projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and within scope . Position is located on Ascension Island. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X. Responsibilities Major Job Activities: + Project Planning and Coordination. + Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets. + Coordinate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope and deliverables. + Site Supervision and Inspections. + Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations. + Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications. + Team Management and Communication. + Manage subcontractors and labor force, facilitating effective communication. + Provide leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring a positive work environment. + Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution. + Address and resolve construction-related issues and conflicts as they arise. + Implement solutions in a timely manner to keep the project on track. + Documentation and Reporting. + Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. + Develop and present status reports to stakeholders. + Provides and plans, coordinates and supervises minor construction and maintenance services for existing and new infrastructure and adherence to project specifications and timelines. Services include managing construction, to include in-house PWOs and subcontractors for new, permanent, and temporary facilities in host nation, as well as remodeling and maintaining existing structures . + Other duties as assigned. Material & Equipment Directly Used: + May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protection equipment (PPE) such as flak vest and Kevlar helmet; may be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment. + Use of cell phones to maintain contact and accountability of work activities. Working Environment: + The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Physical Activities: + Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion. + Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. Qualifications Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required . + Associate's degree or equivalent preferred. + Construction Management or related field preferred. + Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable. + Must be CAC eligible and/or ability to obtain a CAC or Token. + A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License is required . Experience: + Seven to Ten (7-10) years of Project Management or Construction Management experience. + Seven (7) or more years of experience supervising employees. + Must ensure all projects are managed effectively from initiation to closure utilizing current Project Management processes and techniques . + Effectively plans future work to create and establish project schedules and budgets. + Develops schedules and workload requirements for the project team to ensure effective execution of all planned work. + Provides supervision of all projects and ensures all project stakeholders’ schedule, budget, and quality requirements are met. Other Requirements: + Utilizes various Project Management tools including, but not limited to, Earned Value Management, Claim Analysis, and Resource Loading Scheduling Technique to develop reports to monitor and control projects. + Ensures all direct labor and subcontractor personnel comply with all Environmental Safety and Health requirements. + Familiarity with software that will assist in evaluation of RFI’s and CO’s. + Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems to include, but not limited to, EDMS and Aconex. + Collaborates with architects and engineers for constructability to define project scope, estimates and deliverables. Skills & Technology Used: + Inspects projects and provides timely updates to Sr. Management and the customer. + Develops and implements effective processes to enhance operations and ensures standard operating procedures are updated and implemented. + Manages subcontractors and labor force to ensure effective communications and resolve construction related issues. + Maintain accurate project documentation and progress reports for labor and material close out.
