The right candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all construction field-related activities to ensure cost, schedule and quality standards are met. Responsible for establishing the construction scheduling, field policies and procedures, and the overall community job sites for safety and appearance. Continually interfaces with all departments to achieve division goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Recruit, actively communicate train field personnel regarding construction processes, safety, quality requirements, company policies and proceduresSchedule and direct tasks necessary for all phases of constructionManage and supervise construction activities either directly or through utilizing the Construction Area Managers, Project Managers, General Superintendents and SuperintendentsEnsure the Construction Department is meeting all safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulationsOversee field operations, production times and ensure quality control so the homes built meet company standards and are ready for homeowner orientation/occupancySet build times on each plan and provide schedules to meet the build timesReview all architectural plans prior to first time build at each community. Grant final approval on all architectural changes Take immediate action, including adjusting the construction process or shutting down work, if necessary, to achieve a safe working environment and comply with requirementsEvaluate community schedules to update and determine appropriate modifications to schedules and resources to reflect community’s needs as they arise to ensure timely completionInterface, when necessary, with public agencies, municipal governing bodies, public utilities and industry associations in obtaining permits and approvalsVisit job sites to check quality and policy enforcementReview performance of all trade partnersReview survey cards for construction and customer service to direct quality improvement effortsDevelop and control the departmental overhead budgetConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnightSupervisory Responsibilities

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Ten years related experience and/or trainingMust have a vehicle and a valid driver’s licenseHigh degree of construction knowledge and management skillsAbility to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedulesGeneral knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes Ability to converse with customers, all levels of management and personnelSuperb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated commitment to customer satisfactionAbility to control cost overruns and manage a budgetAbility to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptopAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; climb ladders and scaffolding; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
