Our Transport Infrastructure Delivery team are seeking to appoint a highly experienced Construction Manager to take ownership and lead our high-performing project team on the Ōtaki to north of Levin Highway Project (Ō2NL Project).
The Ōtaki to north of Levin (Ō2NL) highway will dramatically improve safety, resilience and efficiency, as well as increasing transport choices for the area’s growing population. The Ō2NL project is led in partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga and council partner Horowhenua District Council.
This transformative project is being delivered using a two-alliance approach, with each alliance delivering a section of the road and associated works. Together alliance partners are working to create a positive legacy for the region, led by our project principles to tread lightly with the whenua and create an enduring legacy. We are seeking excellent people for this unique opportunity to work and collaborate with leading industry organisations.

In this key leadership role, you will work closely with the Alliance Manager in the management of the project, ensuring best outcomes of project deliverables and optimisation of resource.
Working specifically on the Ō2NL Project, you will achieve the following outcomes:
Actively promote, lead and support a Zero Harm culture Influence and manage project deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget and in line with agreed specification Develop a strong and motivated team, both in culture and capability by providing clear and positive leadership Enhancing our relationship with all key clients and stakeholders Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and the Downer framework and standards

Tertiary qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field Proven management experience with responsibility and accountability for staff, plant and return on investment Proven project management experience and a suitable level of experience in the construction industry preferably with a contacting organisation Demonstrated track record in identifying, researching and developing marketplace opportunities Proven track record in developing a culture that support SQE management, encouraging and rewarding excellence Clear demonstration of leadership behaviours that empower others
