Job Title: Construction Manager - Transmission & Substation Job Description We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee various high voltage electric transmission and substation projects throughout Chicago. The role encompasses all stages of construction, including design, walkdowns, and actual construction work. The Construction Manager will be responsible for supervising crews, ensuring productivity, and maintaining job site safety. This position requires daily travel to field sites, participation in meetings, and safety councils as assigned. Non-local candidates will be considered, and compensation for work travel will be provided. This is not a remote position; the candidate must be on-site Monday through Friday. Responsibilities + Oversee high voltage electric transmission and substation construction projects. + Supervise crews. + Report on productivity and job site safety. + Monitor and report on job site safety. + Conduct daily travel to field sites. + Participate in meetings and safety councils as assigned. Essential Skills + 10+ years of construction management experience. + Experience overseeing third-party crews. + Proficient in site safety management and reporting. + Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. + Clear and effective communication skills. + Willingness to travel within the ComEd service territory. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma. + Strong management and leadership skills. + Knowledge of construction practices in the electric utility sector. Work Environment This position requires daily fieldwork from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with an additional 10 hours of overtime. The role involves working closely with various construction crews and participating in on-site activities to ensure project success.
