Summary You will serve as a CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL ASSISTANT in the Maintenance and Engineering Program of NAVFAC Southwest Responsibilities You will initiate material requisitions and material requirement forms. You will procure, pick up and deliver materials to support work requirements. You will ensure that material deliveries are on schedule to their assigned installations. You will research catalogs to locate materials or equipment. You will assist and facilitate required actions resulting from schedule changes that impact material and equipment availability. You will advise production Controllers, Project Managers and Job Supervisor of any material or informal contract support problems that will delay completion of scheduled tasks. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Physical Effort Walking, bending or stooping may be involved in activities such as, inspection of material, equipment and contractor site visits and providing material support. Incumbent lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasionally may lift items weighing over 50 pounds with assistance.
