Construction Materials Technician
Job Description

An emerging engineering firm in the NC marketplace is seeking dedicated Civil Engineers, Geotechnical, and/or Construction Services professionals to join their team as Engineering Technicians/Field Technicians. This role is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers while contributing to the growth and reputation of the triad office. The technician will be responsible for visiting job sites to gather and test samples of soils and concrete.

ResponsibilitiesVisit job and construction sites to gather samples of different soils and concrete.Conduct field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, and asphalt.Test materials in the field or transport them back to the office/laboratory for testing.Prepare detailed reports on findings and test results.Essential SkillsACI Certification is preferred and required.High attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Willingness to submit to MVR test for company vehicle provision.Previous experience in labor or field roles such as landscaping, farming, construction labor, or field service work.Ability to read and write detailed reports.Capacity to work independently.Additional Skills & QualificationsACI and ICC certifications are a plus.Experience in soil inspections, concrete inspections, masonry inspections, and asphalt inspections.Strong communication and personal skills.Work Environment

The role involves significant outdoor work and traveling to various job sites. Initially, the technician will ride with a team member until they are familiar with the tasks, after which they will be provided with a company truck for site visits. Job sites are typically in the early stages of construction, requiring substantial on-site presence and travel.
