Job Description
Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel). Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor’s representatives, and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results. Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas. May assist with scheduling and dispatching of Technicians to project sites while adhering to strict safety standards.

The role involves 90% field work and 10% office work. Testing will be done at job sites, with documentation completed in the office. Some lab testing will be conducted in the laboratory in Lenexa. The candidate will work in small teams ranging from 1-3 people, depending on job requirements. The work culture promotes a 'can do' attitude, with an expectation to stay busy even when work is slow. The dress code includes boots, jeans, and appropriate safety attire.
