Construction Materials Technician

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Entry Level Construction Materials Technicians. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both field and laboratory settings. Job Description + Field and Laboratory Testing: Perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel). + Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors. + Sample Transport: Safely transport material samples to the lab for further testing. + Reporting: Prepare and submit data and observations in written and digital reports. + Maintenance: Keep equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean and organized. + Scheduling: Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites. Responsibilities + Conduct field and lab tests. + Communicate site and project requirements. + Transport samples with proper documentation. + Prepare and submit daily reports. + Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas. + Assist with technician scheduling. Essential Skills + Experience with concrete, soil, and asphalt testing. + Proficiency in construction labor tasks. + Knowledge of nuclear gauges for density testing. + Ability to conduct aggregate and materials testing. + Understanding of construction and geology principles. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 6+ months of outdoor field work experience, preferably in construction. + High school diploma required; an associate degree in construction, engineering, or geology preferred. + Clean driving record. Work Environment + Field and Office Work: 75% field work, 25% office work. + Team Structure: Work in small teams (1-3 people). + Work Culture: Embrace a 'can do' attitude and stay busy even when work is slow. + Dress Code: Boots, jeans, and appropriate safety attire.
