Overview: Geotechnology, LLC, a Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) Company, has an opening in our Construction Services Department. UES is a nationwide leader in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, Building Code Compliance, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Building Envelope.
Construction Materials Testing Co-ops, during summer and fall 2025 semesters, perform or assist in performing routine field tests and observations.Job Responsibilities:Performs field quality control tests on plastic concretePerforms field density testing on soil, asphalt, and aggregateExtracts field samples in borrow pitsAssists with drilling and sampling operations with hand-operated drilling equipmentMay perform routine laboratory tests on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materialsLimited decision makingPrepares written electronic daily field observation reports and summary reportsPerform other duties as assignedConducts all work in a manner that demonstrates that safety is a core valueFollows Geotechnology's safety plans, programs, policies, and proceduresConducts periodic job site safety observationsParticipates in group safety meetings and job site tailgate safety meetingsCompletes assigned safety trainingQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMust be currently enrolled at a university and pursuing an engineering degreeZero to one-year prior experienceAbility to receive ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I Certification and Nuclear density safety trainingAbility to complete 10-hour OSHA Construction and defensive driver training before May 2025Ability to follow oral and written instructionsAbility to perform routine field testsProficient with a basic cell phone and computer usage for daily report entryDependableAbility to verbally communicate and write in a clear, concise, legible mannerAbility to work flexible hours, which may include nights and weekendsWho We Are: UES provides essential engineering services for some of the most prominent and significant projects in the nation.
