Construction Planner

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is currently seeking a Construction Planner to join the Power Delivery department in our client office in Amarillo, Texas. The Construction Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and work coordination for all construction activities and personnel to achieve construction performance objectives.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited toAbility to read and review engineering drawings and identify required bills of materialsImplement the construction process for planning, execution, and the post-construction continuous learning cycle process for construction projectsCreate, maintain, and communicate the construction critical path scheduleCreate construction material work packages and identify, obtain, and allocate labor, material, and equipmentReview construction project critical issues and escalate as necessaryProvide input and support to ensure the continuous improvement of construction management processes and supporting systemsProvide support for effective material management, forecasting, and budget managementResponsible for work order data governance, appropriate utilization and ownership relative to the creation of master data, and work executionImplement construction planning, execution, and the post-construction continuous learning cycle process for the regionProvide planning, scheduling, and work coordination for all construction labor resources to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the construction portfolioResponsible for compliance with critical path schedules, work scope specifications, and construction O&M and capital project performance objectivesMeet or exceed construction performance objectives with project managementIdentify, obtain, and allocate labor, materials, and equipment to support construction projectsOversee and communicate material forecast information to key stakeholdersLead and support team on receiving process and field returns processMaintain compliance with the company’s contractor safety policy and ensure all personnel adhere to safety policies and proceduresIdentify and share best practices, lessons learned, and process improvements.Required Education/Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, preferred and/or four (4) years of related work experienceComprehensive understanding of industrial facility operation and maintenanceComprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and field material requirementsStrong understanding of concepts of lead time, manufacturing processes for commodities, and highly engineered equipment and fulfillment channelsMust be able to effectively coordinate multiple workgroups and/or contractors of different disciplinesMust have a strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communication skillsMust have strong interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively use critical path scheduling softwareSome travel to job sites to perform material coordinationDesired Education/Experience

 

Experience related to operations/maintenance, planning, budgeting, or similar experienceProven project management capabilities with a track record of demonstrated results
