Construction Program Manager

My client is a leading internationally engineering/construction management firm that is looking to add a Program Manager to lead construction projects for a major aviation client here in the tri-state. This opportunity offer competitive pay, hybrid schedule and exposure to a large client basis.

Responsibilities

Strengthen client relations with existing clients and build new relationships.Serve as the point of contact and liaison between management and clients on advanced program-related issues.Develop products for the client including presentations, spreadsheets, documents, and analytics; oversee and review development of such products completed by project teams.Create and deliver presentations on behalf of the client's program.Lead and facilitate meetings and decisions within the client’s organization.Identify gaps within client program and project management processes and instill best practices.Represent the client at public-facing events and activities, including presentations to industry, governing bodies, and the public.Actively pursue, investigate, and evaluate new or expanded opportunities for associated projects and services.Develop, implement, and monitor annual and strategic marketing plans for targeted projects; participate in the development of the Strategic Plan.Coordinate with client project managers and key client representatives to manage workload, deliverables, and task order budgets.Assist project staff in developing work plans; review and approve schedules, budgets, project milestone dates, and work products.Manage resources to ensure staffing levels meet project needs.Oversee financial performance of projects; assist project staff in identifying potential problems to ensure remedial actions are taken to avoid financial losses and client dissatisfaction.Develop, communicate, and manage project quality assurance, administrative procedures, communications guidelines, project deliverable formats and specifications, and progress reporting requirements.Conduct contract negotiations with clients and sub-consultants.Recommend operational budgets for approval by senior management. Review and confirm proposed project budgets.Monitor monthly performance against budget to ensure project profitability.Manage assignments of large complex projects comprised of highly sophisticated and unconventional components.Direct project team compliance with contract terms, monitor subcontractors’ progress, performance, and compliance with contractual commitments; participate in contract dispute resolution and litigation.Review subconsultant and vendor invoices, and resolve payment disputes.Monitor schedules, billings, and reports; ensure appropriate charging of work hours, costs, and expenses to projects.Communicate project progress to senior management and alert them of project production, quality control or financial performance problems.Assist management team in identifying staffing needs and the hiring process based on future workload and projections for project staffing.Manage indirect reports and support mentoring and evaluation of these staff.Be responsible for direct management of staff.

Skills & Qualifications

Project management experience with Aviation, Transportation, or Port Authority of New York New Jersey.Experience with interior renovation projects.Bachelor’s Degree in construction, architecture, or engineering-related degree.About Actalent
