Construction Project Engineer

Seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our team. This role involves reviewing design and bidding documents, evaluating contractor bids, and overseeing construction progress and scheduling. The Project Engineer will provide technical support to construction staff under the supervision of the Project Manager and contribute to the successful completion of projects.

The ideal candidate should work well independently while collaborating closely with supervisors or managers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in developing cost estimates.

• Review plans and technical documents to ensure project accuracy.

• Respond to questions about project scope and timelines.

• Monitor project costs and progress to ensure alignment with objectives.

• Manage and maintain control of all project documentation.

• Create, manage, and track RFIs (Requests for Information) from the field to architects/engineers.

• Update and maintain project records.

• Support project manager and superintendent in creating and distributing project schedules.

• Submit subcontractor documents to architects/engineers for approval.

• Assist project managers and owners in obtaining building permits.

• Understand and apply relevant building codes and regulations.

• Coordinate change-order management, including creation and negotiation.

• Support project closeout activities and documentation.

• Assist in project safety documentation and compliance.

• Work with the project accountant on subcontractor billings and pay applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or a related field.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Professional, polished demeanor with a commitment to excellence.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience in Procore strongly preferred, but not required.

• Flexible and adaptable to changes in project demands.

• Ability to read and comprehend project plans and specifications.

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and ability to meet deadlines.

• Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Strong preference given to local candidates


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
