Construction Project Manager - Federal Contracts
As the Construction Project Manager for Federal Contracts, you will manage heavy civil infrastructure federal contracts, ensuring project goals are met within time and budget constraints. Projects may include highways, bridges, dams, navigation locks, naval base infrastructure, piers, dry docks, levees, or flood walls for USACE, NAVFAC, or other agencies. This role involves leading a single mega project or a group of projects using various contract procurement methods (Design-Bid-Build, ECI, Design-Build, MATOC, MACC, IDIQ, etc.). Initial travel throughout the region is required, with potential long-term placement in the Mid-Atlantic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Liaise with prime clients to facilitate construction activities. + Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards. + Outline work plans, assign duties, and coordinate project personnel. + Ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget. + Review project proposals to determine timeframes, funding, procedures, staffing, and resources. + Prepare and present project reports. + Provide technical advice and resolve issues. + Coordinate with governmental agencies and subcontractors. + Analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules. + Monitor construction to ensure safety, schedule adherence, and budget compliance. + Represent the company in Owner progress meetings. + Manage financial aspects of contracts, ensuring project profitability. + Lead project team meetings and safety kickoffs. + Mentor and develop team members. + Perform additional assignments as directed. Education and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. + PE credentialing is a plus. + 10+ years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management.
