Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Construction Resident Engineer specializing in Water Treatment to join our team and work onsite in Santa Cruz, California. In this critical role, you will oversee and manage water treatment construction projects, ensuring they meet all quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines.

Oversee daily construction activities for water treatment projects, including plant upgrades and new facility constructionCoordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth project executionReview and approve construction submittals, RFIs, and change ordersConduct regular site inspections and quality control checksEnsure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and project specificationsPrepare detailed progress reports and maintain accurate project documentationCollaborate with design engineers to resolve field issues and implement design modifications as neededManage project budgets and schedules, identifying and mitigating potential risksFacilitate effective communication between all project team members and stakeholders

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 6+ years or relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid driver's license that allows you to drive during the course of employment

Preferred Qualifications

6 years of experience as a resident engineer for water treatment projectsProfessional Engineer (PE) license OSHA certificationProficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD softwareStrong knowledge of water treatment processes and technologiesExperience with construction management software and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent project management and organizational skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesIn-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practicesFamiliarity with environmental regulations and compliance requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple prioritiesWillingness to travel to project sites as needed
