Your Role:

This role is required to validate restoration and building quotes and cost estimates for small to medium properties across both high-end residential and commercial projects.  

Your Responsibilities:

Conduct site inspections as necessary to evaluate damage and confirm scopes of work and related costs Analyse scopes of work to comprehend repair needs and methodologies Collaborate with panel contractors to ensure repair expenses align with contracted rates Collaborate with policyholder’s preferred contractors to ensure repair costs align with industry standards Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian Standards Possess experience in the construction process, including critical inspection milestones, permit requirements, and workplace health and safety (WHS) protocols Possess experience in construction cost validation, including knowledge of industry cost standards Customer Focus – Prioritise understanding and fulfilling customer needs by actively gathering information to ascertain the circumstances, issues, expectations, and requirements of internal and external clients Organisational Management – Efficiently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines by effectively allocating time and resources, managing multiple assignments concurrently Quality – Consistently deliver high-quality work with a focus on accuracy Communication/Interpersonal Skills – Clearly and professionally convey information to both internal and external stakeholders, utilising written and verbal communication skills effectively Responsiveness – Promptly and professionally address requests for information, emails, and phone calls Adaptability – Exhibit a willingness to embrace uncertainty, respond innovatively to changing conditions, acquire new skills, adapt methods, and remain flexible Teamwork – Work collaboratively with others to achieve common team objectives; understand team dynamics, promote cooperation, contribute meaningfully, and actively listen and respond to others while fostering a respectful and trustworthy environment 5 years minimum building experience Demonstrated experience in construction estimating for high-end residential and commercial properties Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while navigating conflicting priorities Experience engaging directly with policyholders, builders, building consultants, and trades/suppliers Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Thorough knowledge of the construction lifecycle, including handover processes and WHS regulations Proficient understanding of applicable Building Codes and Australian standards Capacity to work independently IT proficiency Possession of a current Builder’s license or relevant Building Trade License
