Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to oversee and ensure the safety of construction operations on large-scale projects. This role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with safety standards, mitigating risks, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Army or Department of Defense (DOD) projects, preferably on military bases.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and manage the safety programs and policies for construction projects, ensuring compliance with all OSHA and DOD safety regulations.Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments on construction sites.Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety protocols to minimize job site accidents and injuries.Provide safety training and toolbox talks to all site personnel, ensuring adherence to company and government safety standards.Investigate incidents and accidents, providing reports and recommendations to prevent future occurrences.Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment.Stay current with the latest safety regulations, requirements, and trends, particularly those specific to military and DOD projects.Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on-site, including coordination with Army or DOD safety officials.Ensure compliance with safety protocols specific to military base projects, including restricted access and clearance requirements.Qualifications:Required: Experience working on Army or Department of Defense (DOD) construction projects.Preferred: Experience managing safety programs on construction projects located on military bases.Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other recognized safety certifications.Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards, DOD safety regulations, and military base safety protocols.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence safety practices across teams.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
